Nokia’s re-entry to smartphone (Nokia D1C) segment was confirmed with HMD Global Licensing the NOKIA Brand for mobile devices.
Good News for all Nokia Lovers 😀 – NOKIA D1C is coming with an Android Operating System.
Nokia Android Phones to make an Entry into the Smartphone Market
It’s not often that the fate of a 150-year-old brand rests on the shoulders of a company that’s barely six months old. But that’s exactly what’s happening, with HMD Global announcing everything’s in place for it to develop mobile devices under the Nokia brand name for the next 10 years.
HMD Global Oy was formed in May 2016 with the aim of securing the licensing deal and to bring the iconic Nokia brand back to the mobile market. Nearly all key HMD executives have a Nokia connection – with many of them having worked at both Nokia and Microsoft Devices in the past – and you can sense their excitement at bringing the Nokia name where they feel it belongs. While Nokia is not an investor in HMD, it does have representation on the HMD board and will receive a royalty on every Nokia-branded device that the company sells.
Let’s now dig into what Nokia is coming up with its New Android Phone Nokia D1C !!
Nokia D1C Features
It seems that Nokia D1C will come in two variants with different RAM / Camera / Display size configurations. Cheaper of the two variants will pack 2 GB RAM, 5-inch 1080p display and will have a 13 MP rear shooter.
The second variant will pack 3GB RAM, 5.5-inch 1080 display and a 16 MP rear shooter. This again comes from one of the reliable sources on internet that these two variants are under testing.
Images of upcoming Nokia device were leaked in China earlier. And we have reasons to believe that these renders represent Nokia D1C closely.

If there’s one area where Nokia is still going strong, despite all recent trouble, it’s the design of their smartphones. The Nokia D1C has its body entirely made of plastic or Metal(Still not clear yet), but that doesn’t take anything away from its clean, smooth looks.
In some strange way it resembles an HTC phone or an Microsoft Lumia phone – in every good way possible. Hard to put a finger on, but there’re certain similarities to an HD 2, or a Desire HD or a Lumia 820.
The choice of materials and the build quality would be best as promised by nokia.. Overall, the Nokia Lumia D1C looks way better and tougher than most mid-range smartphones out there.
